What if I rent a tank?
- You can change your supply contract to LPGUK and benefit from a guaranteed fixed margin.
How often does the price change?
We update our price on the first of each month.
However, we reserve the right to implement immediate price increases or decreases if market conditions change significantly.
What if I am under contract with another supplier?
Once you decide to switch to LPGUK, simply sign and return the NOTICE 1 document. Your transfer will be completed within a maximum of 42 days. Your current supplier will inform us of any remaining contractual obligations.
I have gas left in my tank on the exchange date?
That’s not a problem—we purchase the tank in its current position, and the remaining gas is accounted for in the transition.
What happens if you deliver more gas than I ordered?
We use third-party delivery agents, and the type of tanker may vary. Some modern tankers have automatic metering systems that ensure exact delivery volumes.
Older tankers may lack these systems, so small discrepancies may occur. These will be invoiced accordingly and any overpayment can be refunded, or underpayment settled later.
I own my tank but have no certificate?
You will need to book an engineer visit through us to inspect and certify your tank before we can deliver gas.
I think my tank is not sited correctly?
All LPG tanks must comply with COP1 (Code of Practice). If your tank doesn’t meet this standard, we cannot fill it until it has been repositioned by one of our engineers. You will need to provide a new base and trench.
If repositioning is not possible, we may need to cancel your contract or recommend switching to a cylinder-based supply.
To request a copy of COP1, please email Val@Extragas.co.uk.
What happens to my old supplier’s tank?
We purchase the tank, so there is no physical exchange—only the paperwork is updated.
Who pays for the regulators and fittings?
If the tank is part of a “rollover” from your previous supplier and it remains in the same location, regulators and fittings are supplied free of charge.
For new installations, a charge of £350–£500 applies depending on the site conditions.
All underground pipework must be supplied and maintained by the customer. We can provide the pipe free of charge for installation.
Can anyone fill my tank?
If your tank is owned by LPGUK, only LPGUK or an authorised supplier may fill it.
When should I order?
You should place your order when your tank reaches 20% capacity to ensure timely delivery.
How long does delivery take?
We aim to deliver within a maximum of 10 days, except during extreme weather or unforeseen conditions.
How much is tank rental?
Rental costs depend on the type of tank installed. For example:
- Above-ground tank: £63.00 per year
- Underground tank: £120.00 per year
